Critical Care Unit Receives AACN Beacon Award of Excellence

Our Critical Care Unit recently traveled to Houston, Texas to accept their new Silver Beacon Award for Excellence, given by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

The Beacon Award for Excellence can be given to any hospital unit where patients receive their principal nursing care after hospital admission. This award sets the standard for excellence in patient care environments by collecting and utilizing evidence-based information to improve patient outcomes and patient and staff satisfaction.

Since 2010, more than 500 hospital units have received this prestigious award. In Texas, there are only 33 units with a current Beacon Award of Excellence recognition.
