Dr. Daniel Nelson spent his childhood in Midland Texas when his father worked as a geologist for Chevron Oil Company. He graduated from the University of Dallas, and then medical school at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. He went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has been a board certified orthopedic surgeon for 22 years.

Dr. Nelson has been a member of the Permian Basin community since he returned to practice here in 1998. Since then he has provided excellent orthopedic care for general orthopedic problems, but also more specialized care in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint reconstruction and fracture treatment. Dr. Nelson is married with four children. He is active in both his church and community.

Dr. Nelson currently practices at West Texas Orthopedics.
