I graduated from Texas Tech University, and came to Midland for the obvious reason: my husband works for an oil company. I have 2 sons, both in college, and love teaching adult Sunday School at my church. I love Mexican food, my two dogs, hanging out with family and watching movies. But, laughter is my favorite!

I grew up in Pennsylvania (yes, I'm a former Yankee) and got my OT degree at The Ohio State University, and moved to Texas a few years later. I have been a therapist a long time. I love working with upper extremity injuries so I also became a Certified Hand Therapist. My husband and I have two wonderful daughters in college, and we love to travel.

Physical Therapists

Gary GrayGary Gray, PT

I’ve spent my entire career (over 30 years) as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient orthopedic setting and, in 2012 merged my practice (West Texas Therapy) with Midland Memorial Hospital, resulting in the largest out-patient rehabilitation clinic in the area. While I continue to provide treatment to patients on a limited basis, most of my time is spent performing the various and necessary administrative duties that are required in order to provide our patients with an incredible staff and amazing care. I am a graduate of the University of Texas and currently am in my third term as a Governor appointed member of the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. I also serve on the Medical Advisory Committee for the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center, the Board of Directors at Green Tree Country Club and in various capacities at our church. My beautiful wife, Donna, and I enjoy spending time with our family which includes 6 daughters and the 9 grandchildren we are blessed to have.  I am also a passionate sports fan and an avid golfer and hunter and in my spare time enjoy traveling.

Harvey AikmanHarvey Aikman, PT, DPT, DipMDT, FAAOMPT

I followed this with an Orthopaedic Fellowship through Damon College in Buffalo New York culminating in the awarding of Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2010. I most recently completed a doctorate in physical therapy from The College of St. Scholastica in 2017. I have served as the chairman of the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, as well as multiple positions on the Board of Directors for the Texas Physical Therapy Association. I continue to practice on a daily basis with a focus on Orthopedic and spine problems and I'm an active clinical instructor for several universities.

Bronwyn HillBronwyn Hill, PT, DPT

Barbara LesleyBarbara Lesley, PT

I have worked as a Clinical Physical Therapist for 45 years, having started my training at the University of Wisconsin. My long career has offered me the opportunity to work in a variety of setting and positions in 6 different states. As a senior adult, I bring to our clinic the unique perspective of understanding the influence of aging on the process of recovering function and health. I love being part of a wonderfully diverse staff that is able to use their gifts and skills to help people of all ages and need levels.

Susan StrangeSusan Strange, PT, DPT

I am a DPT graduate from Hardin-Simmons University. As a local Midlander, I swore that I wouldn't move back after high school. However, Midland Memorial Hospital made a lovely job offer that I couldn't refuse and I was sucked back home - a surprising blessing I would never have imagined. Besides working towards a CFMT certification (Certified Functional Manual Therapist), I like all things classic rock and frequently change the work radio station to please my musical interests. When I am not busy pretending to love running for physical exercise, I work with pediatric patients and teach them the fine art of keeping your balance while playing the air guitar. My greatest goal this year is to eventually not be the youngest therapist on staff, but still the most qualified to kill the occasional bug while simultaneously screaming.

Susan SweeneySusan Sweeney, PT, CLT

Jason SchulzJason Schulz, PT, COMT

I grew up in Midland, Texas and graduated from Lee High School. I attended Texas Tech and earned a Bachelor of Zoology degree. I continued my education at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy Degree in 2000. In 2015, I became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist in the Lower Spine and in 2016, I became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist for the Lower Extremities. I have also been a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner since 2013. I enjoy time with my wife, our four children, family, and friends.

Courtnee SpringfieldCourtnee Springfield, PT, DPT

I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Texas Tech University in 2016 and immediately pursued a specialty in pelvic floor physical therapy. Being born and raised in West Texas, I was aware of the lack of pelvic floor knowledge and services offered and wanted to bring awareness and treatment options to a very large, under-served population. I am passionate about my specialty and love helping my patients. If you’re wondering what pelvic floor therapy entails, just ask me! Prior to attending PT school, I was a secretary with an oilfield company, photographer, and massage therapist for 10 years. I currently live in Odessa with my husband, and enjoy traveling anywhere and everywhere as much as possible.

Manny ValerioManny Valerio, PTA

I graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2002 with my Masters in Physical Therapy and returned later to obtain my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 202.  I am married to my wife Natalie and we have 3 children who keep us very busy. In my spare time I enjoy working out, coaching youth sports and hanging out with friends and family.

Lisa WilliamsLisa Williams, PT

I feel that I am a helper by nature and years ago traded in my idea of becoming a physician to become a physical therapist. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I am passionate about helping others regain function so as to fully enjoy their lives. When my husband asks me what the best part of my day is, frequently it involves telling him "a patient told me ‘I can now do …’ ”. I graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed my Master’s in Rehabilitation Science at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. In my spare time, I can be found creating scrapbooks full of memories. I also enjoy spending technology-free time with friends and family.

I graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Speech, Language Pathology in 2008. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and daughter. I also love to bake, read, and travel. It has been a privilege to work alongside the amazing therapists at West Texas Therapy and I am proud to be a part of this team.

I was born and raised in beautiful Virginia. It was there that I met my husband and began the crazy life as a military wife. Scott and I moved several times over the years and after retirement we settled here in his hometown of Midland. I am still not sure how he managed to get me here and away from water, but here I am. I have two great kids and several pets. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going for walks, and hanging out with my family.

Libby MurpheyLibby Murphey, Front Office Staff

I am from the small town of Decatur, Texas. I worked in the medical field for several years before moving to Midland about 4 years ago. I'm a very energetic, busy and outgoing individual. I have many years of experience in the medical field and patient relations field. My main focus in life is achieving, exceeding, and living life to the fullest.

Misti GatewoodMisti Gatewood, Office Manager

I grew up in the small town of Kermit, Texas as the youngest of four children. I have wonderful parents who taught me the value of personal integrity, faith, and hard work. After high school I continued my education at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where I obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2007, and Master of Business Administration in 2009. I never thought I would find myself working in healthcare, but West Texas Therapy is not your “normal” healthcare facility. My husband and I have one son, enjoy traveling and spending time with family whenever we can.
