Dr. Rowland grew up in Midland, Texas where he attended Midland High School. He is an avid sports enthusiast, and he played baseball and football during his high school career. He was the quarterback of the Midland High Bulldog football team during the 2001 and 2002 seasons, ultimately leading Midland High to the state championship game in 2002. He was also a pitcher for the Bulldogs during their State Championship season in 2001. After graduation, he attended Texas Tech University, where he was a scholarship quarterback for the team. He played with the Red Raiders under coach Mike Leach during the Air Raid era. During his collegiate career, the Red Raiders were Holiday Bowl champions and Insight Bowl champions; they also participated in the Cotton Bowl Classic during his tenure.

After graduating from the Honors College at Texas Tech with a degree in Finance, Dr. Rowland attended the Texas Tech University School of Medicine, where he was the President of the Dean’s Ambassadors and Vice President of the Orthopedic Surgery Club. He also served on the Admissions Committee. Upon his graduation from medical school, he moved to Fort Worth and completed his residency at the John Peter Smith Hospital Residency Program. He then went on to the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas for his fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. During his fellowship, he served as a Team Physician for the Colorado Rockies during their annual Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona. He also covered multiple universities and high schools during his fellowship.

Dr. Rowland specializes in sports medicine, hip, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, shoulder and knee arthroplasty, cartilage restoration and fracture care. He ultimately decided to return to his West Texas roots to establish his practice due to his love for the culture and the competitive spirit of the people in the area. In his free time, Dr. Rowland enjoys spending time with family, travel, exercising, and attending sporting events.
