Below is a list of upcoming cross-community health and wellness events. In September 2015, the Wellness Tour was the beginning of a long-lasting relationship between Midland Health, the city of Midland, Midland College and Midland ISD. Together, we can achieve the goal of making Midland the healthiest community in Texas. This year's Wellness Tour is scheduled for August 10-13. April 2 | Food Is Medicine: A Wellness Event Introducing Plant-Based Nutrition
Learn about the benefits of a plant-based diet from nutrition experts, as well as people who have experienced the radical benefits of the lifestyle. See how a plant based diet can prevent and reverse chronic disease, discover how exercise plays an important part of a healthy lifestyle, learn how to shop and cook on the plant based diet, participate in a Q&A session with health experts, and more! April 9 | Mustang Run in Support of the SJ JH Boys Athletic Booster Club
This year's theme is "Be Your Own Superhero" so come dressed in your favorite superhero costume or t-shirt, or get creative and dress up as your own superhero. Prizes awarded for Best Costume and Most Creative. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Midland College, Allison Fine Arts Building Parking lot. June 16 | Alzheimer’s Workshops

These workshops cover topics such as caregiving for someone with Alzheimer’s, early detection, and memory loss and dementia. Course are free to the public, but reservations are required. To register, call 1.800.272.3900. All workshops will be held at the Midland College Advanced Technology Center, located at 3200 W Cutherbert Ave.

April 16 | ROTC Midessa Battalion 14 Mile March
This 14-mile march will be hosted by Midland High School's ROTC. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. at Beal Park, located at 5200 W Wall Street. The march will begin at 7 a.m. To register, visit www.raceplanner.com/register/index/bataandeathmarch

April 20 | Pitch, Hit & Run with MLB
Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. Boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 14 are divided into four age divisions and will have the chance to advance levels of competition all the way to the Team Championships at Major League ballparks. April 30 | 80’s Costume 5K and Disco Fun Run
The 80's Costume 5K and Disco Fun Run will benefit the Midland Municipal Employee Scholarship Fund. The run will follow the old United Way 5K route in central Midland. To learn more, call Joey Jolly at 432.685.7379, or email jajolly@midlandtexas.gov.

May 7 | Running for the Mission
All proceeds from this race will benefit the Mission Center Day Care Services. May 21 | 10th Annual Victory Run, Walk & Ride
The Victory Run is a chip-timed event including a 1 mile walk, 5K run/walk, and 34 mile bike race. All proceeds go to the Gifts of Hope Foundation, home of the Hope House and Scott Seator Foundation. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Scharbauer Sports Complex. April through June, Multiple Dates | Risk Management and Safety Classes
Thanks to a grant from Texas Mutual Insurance Company, Midland College is proud to offer various workplace safety-related hazard classes, such as H2S certification, safe land & basic, HAZWOPER 40 hour, excavation competent person, and CPR first aid & BBP. All classes will be held at the Midland College Advanced Technology Center, located at 3200 W. Cuthbert Ave. To register, call 432.681.6335.
