2017 Annual Report
Posted On: 3/20/2018
In 2017, we continued to further our vision to make Midland the healthiest community in Texas by opening a new Lifestyle Medicine Center at
our West Campus. This center offers a holistic approach to managing sickness, as well as offering preventative care. The center also offers
The Ornish Program - a noninvasive and scientifically-proven program shown to reverse heart disease through diet and lifestyle. We are one of
only 4 medical facilities in Texas to offer it. Stay tuned as we continue to expand our lifestyle medicine offerings and roll out a full corporate
wellness program in 2018.
Nine new providers were brought to our area including five hospitalists, an interventional cardiologist, a family medicine physician, a
pediatrician and a general surgeon—a collaborative effort to further expand our network of healthcare providers. In addition, two
neonatologists were brought in from Lubbock to provide 24/7 care for more premature infants who would have previously been transferred
out. We also began laying the groundwork for Midland Quality Alliance, a clinically integrated network of healthcare delivery that ties
payments to quality metrics and the cost of care. Our network of providers will continue to grow and synergy between hospital staff, primary
care providers and post-acute care facilities will ensure each patient has a coordinated plan of care. This can only be made possible with the
use of Beacon, our new electronic health record which will go-live in June 2018.
