Midland Memorial Hospital is proud to host its 12th annual Healthy U Health and Wellness Expo in conjunction with the Midland Reporter Telegram. We hope you will join us Saturday, October 12th, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Midland Center in Midland, TX. Admission is free and there will be great information and door prizes.
Healthy U is a premier health education and wellness event that helps reach and educate hundreds of local Midland residents and visitors from surrounding communities.
As always, Healthy U provides citizens of the Permian Basin with valuable health information, free health screenings, great giveaways and healthy food demonstrations. Healthy Youth, a special section for the kids, will be held in Centennial Plaza. This area will have fun activities such as games, jumpers, obstacle course, photo booth, face painting and great information on bicycle and child safety.
Through this event, thousands of lives are touched in the Permian Basin through services such as cardiac risk assessments, heart disease education, mammography and bone density instruction, colorectal cancer education and much, much more. Visitors will also have a chance to win a free one year family membership to the YMCA.
In years past, a heart walk has taken place the day of Healthy U. This year, Walk for Hearts and a new event, Rhythm Run, will both take place on November 2nd at Midland Memorial Hospital West Campus, winding through neighborhoods promoting heart health.
