The PHIL Award will be given annually to one respiratory therapist, who has been nominated on the basis of professional excellence and compassion in the education and care of patients with pulmonary illness. • Respiratory therapists may be nominated for the award by patients and their family members, visitors, and other caregivers

CRITERIA
A. Models empathy and demonstrates a caring attitude in all situations. 
B. Demonstrates extraordinary clinical skills in the delivery of compassionate patient care.
C. Has a positive attitude and demonstrates professionalism in the work environment.
D. Exemplifies the mission, vision, and values of Midland Memorial Hospital. 
E. Establishes a special connection with the patient and family.
