69 New Cases of COVID-19 in Midland and One New COVID-19 Related Death

Today, Midland County, the City of Midland and Midland Health confirmed Midland County's 45th COVID-19 related death.

The 45th patient, a male in his 70s, was being treated at Midland Memorial Hospital. The patient passed away on August 4, 2020.

The City of Midland Health Department is currently conducting their investigation on 69 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Midland County for August 5, 2020, bringing the overall case count to 2492. There are 768 isolated cases, 1309 recovered, 229 under investigation, 141 unable to locate/refused and 45 COVID-19 related deaths in Midland County.

The City of Midland Health Department will continue to monitor the individuals in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Texas Department of State Health Services is requiring local Health Departments to switch to a new software for reporting case numbers. Due to this transition in software, updating the numbers on our full 
chart will be delayed. Once we get through this transition period, the numbers will be updated as soon as possible.
