Posted On: 4/15/2020
The City of Midland Health Department is currently conducting their investigation on one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in Midland County, bringing the overall case count to thirty-six.
The thirty-sixth confirmed case is a male in his 90s who was tested by a private provider. The male is a resident from Manor Park’s Independent Living who is currently in isolation in Mabee Center’s rehab area. The source of exposure is community acquired.
Manor Park has been following recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for a nursing facility and state regulatory agencies. The staff at Manor Park started wearing masks in early March.
Since March 6, 2020, Manor Park began screening all residents and employees. They are now checking and monitoring residents every four hours and staff members twice a day in the nursing home. Anyone who is admitted to Manor Park’s health care center is tested for COVID-19 and stays in a designated isolation area located in their skilled rehab area.
The City of Midland Health Department will continue to monitor the individual and the facility in accordance with the CDC.
